Sustainable Agricultural Productivity and Market Linkage Project supporting 600 hectares of irrigated wetland and 500 hectares of slope cultivation. Supporting farmers' associations with micro-finance loans and management education for improved market accessibility.

KOICA Rwanda
30 Years of Impact

Since 1991, KOICA has been committed to mutual prosperity, leaving no one behind through inclusive development cooperation.

KOICA was established on April 1, 1991, with a mission to contribute to common prosperity and promote world peace through inclusive development cooperation. In Rwanda, KOICA established its office in November 2006 for Korea Overseas Volunteer Program management, and formally established the KOICA Rwanda Office in February 2011. By December 2021, accumulated support exceeded 150 million USD. The organization has been strengthening partnerships through the Korea-Africa Summit and expanding its development cooperation programs across multiple sectors including agriculture, education, ICT, and humanitarian assistance.

To contribute to common prosperity and promote world peace through inclusive, mutual development cooperation, leaving no one behind. KOICA implements development programs tailored to each partner country's needs, focusing on capacity building, technology transfer, and sustainable socio-economic development. Through bilateral projects, multilateral partnerships, and volunteer programs, KOICA partners with Rwanda to strengthen institutions, develop human resources, and create sustainable economic growth while advancing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

KOICA operates on the five core values represented by the 5Ps: People - putting people first and empowering communities; Peace - promoting stability and security; Prosperity - fostering economic growth and sustainable development; Planet - protecting the environment and addressing climate change; Partnership - building mutual cooperation and trust. These values guide all development cooperation efforts to achieve an eminent global development cooperation that realizes global values and creates mutual prosperity.
